International Sex Workers Day is marked annually by sex workers and their allies to honour sex workers, celebrate, reflect and call focus to areas of sex work that need to change including: violence, injustices and poor working conditions.

The day commemorates an occupation of a church in Nice in 1975 by over 100 sex workers, who were protesting their working conditions and calling for change.
